Bubbles!
You need to start the Thanksgiving meal with a sparkling wine. Thanksgiving is a celebration of family and of life, and there is no better way to enjoy a celebration than with a glass of sparkling wine. We recommend either wonderful 2007 Graham Beck Brut Rosé ($21) Methodé Cap Classique, made of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay grapes or delicious August Hill Winery ($19) Frontenac Rosé made in Illinois
Her Majesty The Whites

For whites, the options can be unlimited. Sauvignon blanc or Gewürztraminer are often a fine default choice. We highly recommend these not traditional but wonderful wines: 2007 Vinum Cellars White Elephant ($21) California, Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Best Buys of 2007. Small production wine, unique varietal blend of 58% Chenin Blanc, 30% Roussane and 12% Viognier. 2007 Ogier Heritages Blanc ($16) Côtes-du-Rhône Contrôlée, the oldest and largest wine cellar in the historic community of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, blend of Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Clairette, Roussanne and Viognier. Unique bright and floral characteristic with good balance between roundness and acidity.

Yes, The Reds!
Sensible approach calls for versatile, light-bodied, smooth and refreshing red wines such as Beaujolais, Cabernet Francs, Chiantis and Pinot Noirs. We'll recommend two pinot noirs: 2006 Spy Valley ($26) Marlborough New Zealand aged in French oak barrels. Fruit-driven in style with soft tannins. 2007 Laetitia Estate ($20) Arroyo Grande California is layered with components of earth violets and black fruits. Long and smooth finish.
